An invention happens because inventors think about what problems they can solve, and it usually revolves around making our lives easier.
Here’s 10 of the best inventions to make your life easier. And the last one trumps all the rest…
Rolling benches invention
South Korean designer (Sung Woo Park) has invented a bench that should never be too wet to sit on. The Rolling Bench’s slats rotate, so you can bring the dry section up to the top after a rainstorm.
Be interesting to see how the design holds up in Lancashire & Greater Manchester where the rain blows sideways and doesn’t just drop straight down. Nevertheless an ingenious idea.
Baby shower hat invention
Available through Burbs & Boogies this shower cap for baby means no more crying. As the soft Eva material adjustable shower hat keeps the water and soap out of baby’s eyes.
Our children always got water in their eyes and cried whist christened. So maybe it could be used to stop this happening too. As long as the church approves of course.
Twister fork invention
The Twister fork was invented by designer Damjan Stanković. And has wavy prongs perfect for trapping long pasta so that it can be neatly twirled and eaten. Now there is no more need for a spoon to help catch the drips or to try to slurp the dangling pasta from the bottom up.
A great invention by Damjan Stankovic and solves a problem for us pasta eaters. But I’m not sure the twisted knife will ever take off though.
The devil oven pull invention
Great cheap & little invention by Joie. I don’t know about you, but I always find it a struggle getting hold of hot baking or roasting tins to get them out of the oven.
An there’s many an occasion were I haven’t folded the tea towel enough times or it’s just not wide enough, and I end up burning my pinkies. Yes I’ve used oven gloves too. But just find them bulky & they don’t let you get a good enough grip of the trays to feel safe.
Cup holder umbrella attachment invention
Andrew Tan, Ross Malcolm and Jordan Schlipf invention is genius. When your walking through town on the way to work with your Starbucks & the rain thrashes down (as it normal does in Rossendale). It’s normally a choice between holding your coffee or umbrella.
But not anymore. The nifty new umbrella attachment enables people to have a spare hand which they can use to carry a bag or check their phone. It can be removed and attached within minutes and comes in two models – one for single cups, and another that can hold two drinks.
Light up slippers invention
Brilliant. At last I can get up in middle of the night without fear of stepping on random objects and stubbing my toe on the bed legs.
These slippers don’t need to be turned on manually, just slip your feet into them and the weight sensor automatically turns the slipper lights on.
Just hope the dogs cool with them and doesn’t think it’s a scene out of Batteries not Included or Close Encounters of the Third Kind.

Yolkfish egg separator invention
Not to be mistaken for a Pokemon this Yolk Fish has egg separating powers that will put an end to your shell juggling trials. All you’ve got to do is treat the yolk as fish food. Bring the fish’s mouth down to the yolk, squeeze the fish, gently bring its mouth to the yolk, release to swallow the yolk and squeeze again to release. Done! Gulp, gulp gulp!
I don’t know about you, but I’m forever making a mess of egg separation. And I’ll certainly be putting it in my letter to Santa this year. Baking will be so much easier in 2019.
Ironing board mirror invention
A great invention for the fashion icons or those of us who are short of a bit of space. It is designed by Aissa Logerot from France, and it definitely has that French retro feel to the design. For a classy European home, this will go very well with almost any interior and furniture, and the red color on the legs and
the board is also a very sweet touch.
For the small home this is the ideal way to get a tall mirror into the bedroom. The tilting mechanism makes it perfect for couples as well, because you just flip the mirror if one is taller than the other.
Fart filtering underwear invention
Yes, it’s really a thing. And yes, your prayers have been answered. A UK company named Shreddies has created a product that many people will appreciate. A first glance it’s fun and will make a great novelty gift. But there is a serious side to this too.
Shreddies can be worn by anyone. But they offer the perfect solution to treat flatulence issues caused by IBS (irritable bowel syndrome), Gastritis, Crohn’s disease, Dyspepsia and Colitis as well as food intolerance’s and many other bowel and digestive disorders.
My favourite invention is Shreddies flatulence filtering underwear. Because our family have been blessed with a good dose of flatulence and it’s certainly something for us to consider. Besides they have a fantastical moto too ‘fart with confidence’.
But which is your favourite and why?
